Perfect Match – Something Useful Project

PERFECT MATCH is the culmination of the 2016/17 program in partnership with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), a University that offers comprehensive fine arts degrees. In 2015 SUP and VNSGU began their collaboration by developing a program that would support UK artists in Gujarat during a three month residency program along side 1st and 2nd year students. The commissioning brief of the program focused on cross-cultural experiences through the ubiquity of visual arts in cultures around the world; but the product became much more, both in the relationships formed and the visual dialogue that ensued.

SUP is a UK NGO focusing on bespoke residency programs overseas, in partnership with community colleges and universities that support scholarships in liberal and visual arts. Our programs combine arts practice with artist led workshops by sponsoring UK based professional artists to work in situ in international environments. Artists are chosen to deliver their directives and produce a body of work inspired by their experiences working within the surrounding community and culture to be presented along side students both at their hosts institutions and at The Menier in the UK.
