CREATIVE SCENE PRESENTS Dough!

CREATIVE SCENE PRESENTS Dough!

Dough!

Dough by Olivia Furber, a new show for children aged 3 to 8 and their families. A fun fmaily show full of amazing sights, sells and sounds.

All the best recipes have a story behind them, whether it’s Granny’s heavenly Yorkshire puddings, the secret ingredient that makes sure the sponge always rises or that extra pinch of something that makes your Naan bread perfection! A new show all about food – the fun of making it and, of course, the joy of eating it.

Dough! tells a story of how beautiful and delicious things can be when we are all open to mixing what we know with what we don’t. Inspired by research in Yorkshire communities experiencing cultural frictions, Dough! explores the richness of different cultures by playing with a staple that is familiar to all kitchens.

Dough! explores how life can be filled with colour and beauty when we step outside the beige world we know.

Frankie is in a mess, a very doughy mess. Unable to resolve the chaos in her kitchen, she has to make a journey to an unfamiliar place to get help. Everything tastes, smells and feels different there.

There she discovers Azad, a baker who shows her how fantastic things can be done with ordinary stuff. And what could be more ordinary than the dough that makes our everyday staples. Familiar to all cultures, dough creates the loaves, naan bread, croissants, dumplings and chapattis that remind us of home.
