Almanac GalleryThe Gallery

Almanac was founded in London in 2013 by Astrid Korporaal, Francesca von Zedtwitz-Arnim and Guido Santandrea, and is run by Guido Santandrea and Jeremy Waterfield.

It operates as a non-profit in London and Turin dedicated to showing art in various forms and engaging with ways art can become a part of the daily rhythms of life. We are interested to explore the borders of curatorial agency and the potential of cultural change through creative collaborations. Regarding the exhibition as an act of communication, we aim to facilitate dialogue as a way of opening up artistic practices to new registers of thought. By focusing on solo shows of young artists as well as a complementary programme of events and performances, our aim is to support artists in their individual practice and to provide a deeper knowledge of these practices to the public. These activities also form a part of our commitment towards stimulating public engagement.

Almanac’s programme in Turin aims to facilitate exchange between young international artists, the local audience and curators, institutions and collectors. Begun as an extension of Almanac’s London-based programme and established with the material support of Spazioborgogno, Milan, the platform is conceived as a series of residencies and exhibitions directed by critical research.
