Post Christmas Walk

If you are still concern about that Christmas food extra calories, this is a good way to burn calories and learn about the amazing heritage of the local area.

Travel Active Southwark in partnership with  The Blue Bermondsey and London Borough of Southwark bring to Bermondsey the first of a series of ‘free’ fun walks around the Blue Bermondsey. It will take participants along film locations and other points of interests in the route

The circular walk starts at The Blue Market near the Blue Anchor Library. Led by writer John Constable, author of  ‘Secret Bankside -Walks in the Outlaw Borough” and walks researcher Doug Poll.  The walk is approximately 2.8 miles (4.5km) passing film, TV locations and other points of interests in the route.

Please be sure to wear comfortable footwear and clothing (and umbrella just in case). The walk is open to anyone and it is FREE

A few highlights of the places to visit:

  • Marine Street. Entrance to the ticket office and platform of the 1842-1867 Spa Road station.
  • Grade II Listed Southwark Park School 1873-4 extension1899. By E R Robson.
  • Blue Plaque: Peek Freans Founded in 1857 World renowned biscuit maker that gave Bermondsey the name “Biscuit Town
