William Shakespeare’s If It Be Love screening with Q&A

If It Be Love screening with Q&A

If It Be Love screening brings the ageless words of William Shakespeare adapted to the screen in an award-winning feature film. Pivotal moments from Antony & Cleopatra, Hamlet, Macbeth and Othello take the audience on a journey through four different facets of love, passion, and tragedy.

‘If It Be Love’ premiered at the Raindance Film Festival where it had sold out its first ever screening, before going on to win Best Feature for a low budget film and Best Actor for leading lady Alice Bird, at the London Independent Film Festival last year. It is now being brought to the public for the first time.

Filmed in some of England’s oldest and most beautiful locations, including Dore Abbey which has been standing in Herefordshire for over 900 years, on Britain’s oldest surviving barge dating back to 1881, the creepy confines of Stoke Newington’s Abney Park and Cemetery, as well as 23 metres beneath the Thames River, at Rotherhithe’s local landmark, the Brunel Thames Tunnel and Museum, ‘If It Be Love’ transports the audience onto a sweeping adventure.

Starring: Alice Bird, Vinta Morgan, and Neve Faulkner

Directed by: Filip L. Firlej

Music: Richard Melkonian

Costumes: Johanna Elf

Additional costumes supplied by Sands Films

The film’s director and actors will be present after the screening for a Q&A with the audience.
