The Peek Freans Museum

The Peek Frean Museum at the Biscuit Factory

Unknown to many, the Peek Frean Museum was once based in the Pump House in Rotherhithe until they had to relocate due to financial restraints.

Most of its content was relocated within the Biscuit Factory which seemed as the perfect home for it and it’s maintained with the effort of a few volunteers who has family and work links with the old biscuit factory.

The Summer Fete is an opportunity to learn more about it. There might be tours of the Biscuit Factory museum at intervals throughout the day from Gary Magold. Register your interest on the day.

Grosvenor Britain & Ireland (‘Grosvenor’) continues its community investment programme with its signature Summer Fete taking place on 3 September 2017 at Compass School Southwark, Drummond Road.

This celebration underlines Grosvenor’s commitment to deepening its relationship with the community and developing local partnerships. It also provides locals the opportunity to discuss with Grosvenor the needs of the community.

Grosvenor purchased the former Peek Frean Biscuit Factory and Lewisham and Southwark College sites in 2013. Since then, Grosvenor has been developing strong relationships with the local community and active partnerships.

In June 2017, Grosvenor published and sought feedback on its draft masterplan for Bermondsey, one of the capital’s largest build-to-rent developments. Grosvenor continues to test its latest proposals after two years of local interaction and discussion.

The £500 million investment plan, in the heart of Bermondsey, would host around 1,500 new rental homes. Development plans would also create conditions for over 1300 new jobs, opportunities for new and existing businesses, and an annual boost to local spending of over £30 million.
