Scandinavian Midsummer Market in Rotherhithe

Summer is here and it is the perfect occasion to enjoy another edition of the Scandinavian Midsummer Market 2017 organised by the local Scandinavian community in Rotherhithe. The market is located in Albion Street in Rotherhithe between the Norwegian Church on one side and the Finnish Church in the other.

Come and experience the Scandinavian atmosphere with typical Scandi street food available or get some of the many gifts ideas and delicatessen products on sale.

The Scandimarket also has several community stalls including Up Market, a local charity shop whose stall will be full of tempting bargains plus live music and entertainment.

You can also visit the Finnish Church to purchase unique delicatessen products or the new St Olav’s Square in front of the Norwegian church.

Stallholders

There is something for everyone in The Scandinavian Market. Food, gifts or children activities plus live music acts on the day. If you have visited the well-known Christmas Scandimarket, you will recognise many of the stallholders including the community stalls run by Up Market Charity Shop and Worg-Info, a must visit to learn about the Rotherhithe peninsula

Finnish Church in London

The Finnish Church in London is a religious, cultural and social meeting place for all the Finns who live in Great Britain and Ireland (either permanently or temporarily), as well as for their friends and family. The church has a cafe and shop and organises many cultural and community activities. It also features an authentic Finnish Sauna.

 

 

Up Market Charity Shop at the Christmas ScandimarketUp Market

Up Market is a Community Charity Shop situated in Albion Street providing quality pre-loved items at fantastic prices and have a considerable range of ladies, men and children clothing and accessories in the shop. Clothing aside they also have lots of bric-a-brac, artwork, china, books and much more. The shop, which is open during the week, will also have a stall in the market.

Tricity Vogue All Girl Swing band will be providing music for this annual Rotherhithe summer street market plus they will be holding an ukulele flash mob, too (a great opportunity to bring yours along and take part if you have been taking classes at Time and Talents). The group will be playing classic tunes such as You Are My Sunshine, Hit The Road Jack and other singalong classics

The nearest tube stations are Bermondsey, Canada Water and Rotherhithe on the Overground line. Whatever station you choose, the market is within short walking distances. Follow our map below to find you way to Albion Street or find it in Google Maps
