What’s WISE16?

It’s community, culture, family, entertainment, food, traditional pubs, history, sports and so many other things to do in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. is also a platform to discuss and reflect upon issues affecting residents, businesses and visitors in SE16 and SE1. It was created as a response to those who are unaware of the diversity of communities and cultural life in this part of South London.

When talking about community action, wise16 wants to be a platform for so many grassroot projects in the area and their project.

Advertisement is only supported with ads and it doesn’t get any grants or other funding. If you’d like to advertise and reach out an audience of 5K+ followers in our twitter account, get in touch (scroll down to use the contact form in this page)

Why is it called WISE16?

Every name has a story and wise16 was the result of one of those google searches we all do at some point in our life, sort of naive attempt to find a unique name. So when the letter SE16 were typed in the google search box and the expression ‘wise up to’ appeared on the screen, the name for the website was chosen. The term can be used to express someone becoming aware or informed about something; there was no doubt that was and is the intention of the website when it comes to what’s on in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey

Wise Up To Make or become aware, informed or sophisticate
