Finnish Church (includes the Finnish Church Cafe and the Finnish Dry Sauna)

The London Finnish church and mission was first established in 1882 and it is a Christian, cultural and social meeting place for all Finns in Great Britain or Ireland, whether they live there permanently or temporarily, as well as for their friends and family. The church organises various events around the year, including Christmas and Easter bazaars, as well as weekly happenings for all ages.

Finnish newspapers and magazines are available in the cafeteria. The shop has a large selection of Finnish groceries and delicacies. It also offers boarding facilities, and a genuine Finnish sauna which is heated up nearly every night!

Norwegian Church

There has been a Norwegian church in London since the late 17th century. The current church building (St Olav’s, designed by John Love Seaton Dahl), was consecrated in 1927, the foundation stone was laid the previous year by Prince Olav (later King Olav V of Norway) and it is located at the end of Albion Street and by the entrance to the Rotherhithe tunnel.

Albion Primary School

The Albion Street Steering Group

The role and purpose of the ASSG is to act as a task and finish group to influence the initial development of Albion Street that reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community. On completion of this task the ASSG will hand over ongoing work to a Friends of Albion Street group or similar organisation. To achieve these goals the ASSG will engage with stakeholders, representing their views and disseminating information on any recommendations made to stakeholders. In carrying out its functions the ASSG will have access to Council Officers and other advisors throughout the duration of the project.
