Join in person or online for another unique live concert from Sands Films Studio in Rotherhithe with violinist Clare Hoffman and harpist Gabriella Dall’Olio.

Violinist Clare Hoffman

Violinist Clare Hoffman was invited to be a member of Sandor Végh’s Camerata Academica in Salzburg after playing for him at Prussia Cove. During this time she played with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and was invited to the Ukraine as a guest soloist playing Sir Arthur Bliss’s Violin Concerto with the Odessa Philharmonic. Clare also gave the first performance of Horst Ebenhöh’s concerto in Vienna. She was appointed Principal Second violin of the English Chamber Orchestra who sponsored her debut recital at the Purcell Room. She now plays with the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique.

Since Covid, Clare has enjoyed baking for Barnet Ewen Hall pensioners, Open Water lake swimming and working in the Hadley Woods volunteer group. She played a solo Zoom concert for Cherry Wood Cancer society as their choir was unable to meet at Christmas. Also a YouTube recital for Help the Aged in her married name Clare Bevan.

Harpist Gabriella Dall’Olio

Harpist Gabriella Dall’Olio is internationally active as a soloist and chamber musician; has given recitals and concerts throughout Europe, USA, the Far and Middle East, captivating audiences wherever she goes. Her critically acclaimed recordings span solo, chamber and orchestral works on Claves, Naxos, Toccata, Koch, Stradivarius, EM, Dal Segno and Ambitus labels. She has premiered, commissioned and recorded several contemporary works; has collaborated regularly with composers, and is a current member of Hebrides, Uroboros and Red Note Ensembles. She has collaborated with Gruppo Musica Insieme di Cremona, Wiener Virtuosen, and Kontraste. Gabriella worked regularly and for many years with some of the most outstanding UK and European orchestras. Gabriella is Head of Harp at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She is actively involved in community music projects, ranging from babies of a few months old to elderly people, hospitals and special needs schools. On a lighter tone, Gabriella has played with Tina turner, Sting, Phil Collins, Elton John at the RAH in London, Kazabian, the Pet Shop Boys, Faith SFX and 3X world champion DJ Switch.

Sands Films is a production space and recording studio. The Music Room concerts are delivered to a small in-person audience and live, online. We never charge for delivering art and culture: our events are free to access to all. However, we do rely on a certain amount of donation so we can pay technicians and musicians.
