The organisers will be working closely with Southwark Council’s Environmental Protection Team on the night to monitor the sound levels.

Surrounding areas

People will be arriving from approximately 5.30pm onwards. Although we expect over 15,000 to take part, their arrival will be staggered over the course of the evening.

Participants have been advised to use public transport, in particular Canada Water and Surrey Quays Stations., and these stations and surrounding areas are likely to be busy. Participants have been advised not to drive, and asked not to park in local residential areas. Anyone who does arrive by car has been advised to be dropped off at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.

Participant will be directed to enter the park through China Hall Gate. Stewards will be present on Gomm Road for crowd control and to restrict any event parking.

Road Closures and Parking Bay Suspensions

The local roads around Southwark Park will be significantly busier than normal, os in order to avoid congestion, please avoid driving in the area wherever possible.

  • JAMAICA ROAD

    • The westbound bus lane (between Southwark Park’s Christchurch Gate and St James’s Road) will be closed on Saturday 24th September. There will be no access to Jamaica Road from/to Southwark Park Road, Drummond Road and Keetons Road during this time
    • The bus lane closure will be installed from 7pm
    • All parking/loading bays within the bus lane closure will be suspended from 6pm on Saturday 24th September
    • The bus lane closure will be in place until approximately 1am on Sunday 25th September
    • Buses using Jamaica Road will be unaffected although some bus stops may be temporarily moved

  • DRUID STREET

    • A lane closure will be in place along Druid St between Abbey Street and Tanner Street. This will also be installed from 7pm. Access to/from Arnold Estate and Sweeney Crescent will be kept open, but the organisers would politely request that people in the area refrain from driving in this area wherever possible.
    • If you do need to drive in the area, please do take great care and follow the instructions of the stewards who are there to ensure everyone’s safety. Please be aware that traffic flow is likely to be very slow during the event
    • For safety reasons all the parking bays on Druid St between Abbey Street and Tanner Street will be suspended, so please do not park in these bays
