Bermondsey-Celtic Christmas Concert at Shortwave Cafe

Bermondsey-Celtic Christmas Concert at Shortwave CafeShortwave Cafe presents Celtic Christmas Concert

Prepare yourself for the festive season with a selection of Celtic Christmas tunes beautifully sung by performers whose work spans across Theatre, Cabaret and International Music Festivals. This relaxing evening of yuletide song by candle light is guaranteed to put you in the Christmas mood.

A Celtic Christmas will create a unique Christmas concert. Classically trained soprano, Caitlin Downie is joined by Tad Sargent(bodhran & bouzouki) and Dominic Henderson (uilleann pipes & whistle), both of whom are main players on the Traditional Folk scene. Tad and Dominic bring a true folky twist to the line up with the uillean pipe, low whistle, bodhran and bouzouki instruments. The piano will be played by Sarah Bodalbhai who regularly performs in the West End cabaret scene. It is the first time all four musicians, from such diverse musical backgrounds, will be performing together. The songs featured would have been passed from generation to generation and sung every year at this festive time, promising glad tidings for the year ahead.

About Shortwave Cafe

Shortwave Café is an art and events venue in Bermondsey’s busiest business complex where you can relax with colleagues over coffee and cake, catch up with friends for drinks after work, or check out the current art exhibition. The café is spacious and bright, with natural light provided by the same skylights that allowed the workers in the old Peek Frean’s factory to produce the Bourbons, Garibaldis, Custard Creams and Twiglets, whose aromas wafted out into the surrounding streets and homes. Join for coffee and cake, cocktails, wines or cold beers from local brewers while you lounge in comfortable chairs, or take in the latest art show.

Free WiFi is available. Free parking after 6.30pm and all day on Saturday. Shortwave Cafe is closed on Sundays
