Bermondsey Voices is a community choir in the London borough of Southwark started by Kristina Mansbridge in May 2012 to promote singing in the community.

Bermondsey Voices meet Tuesday evenings at 7.30-9.00pm in the beautiful St James Church on Thurland Road around the corner from Bermondsey Tube Station.

Who are Bermondsey Voices?

Bermondsey Voices

The majority of their members are British but we also have members from New Zealand, Belgium, Brazil, Norway and Ghana. Our MD Kristina is from Sweden. Their aim is to sing to the best of our ability, work hard during rehearsals and to have a lot of fun and they often go for a drink in the local pub after rehearsals and sometimes go to concertsand other fun events together.

Feel like joining?

Bermondsey Voices has come a long way in three years so why not join them on their journey in St James Church.

You can drop in on your way home from work for a stress busting rehearsal and connect with your voice and the local community in a friendly and relax environment.

We’re a friendly bunch of people who love to sing and have a laugh.

Bermondsey Voices is currently preparing for performances at

  • Borough Market in May
  • Singing Happy Birthday and other lovely songs at St James Church in June when the Parish celebrates Queen Elizabeth II
  • Drum roll please, the choir’s very own Ca(t)baret Meowlin Rouge. The cabaret is inspired by Bermondsey heroine Ada Salter’s daughter Joyce’s little cat as she waits faithfully for her little owner and ray of sunshine to come back from hospital having caught scarlet fever

The cabaret will be in aid of Battersea Cats & Dogs Home and will take place on Saturday 23 July 8:30pm. Watch out this space for more information to follow.
