Borough New Music Series 10

For the opening of Borough New Music 2018-19 season, you are warmly invited to five concerts at St George the Martyr Church (Borough High Street SE1 1JA, opposite Borough Tube) inBorough New Music Series 10, curated by Artistic Director Clare Simmonds.

Concerts will take place every Tuesday in October at 1pm. Borough New Music celebrates the music of today’s composers and improvisers, and this Series involves 18 composers and 13 performers. Admission is free. The music includes:

Tuesday 2 October

Music for clarinet, marimba, mezzo-soprano and piano by Rob Keeley, performed by Victoria Samek, Chris Brannick, Lore Lixenberg and the composer himself.

Tuesday 9 October

The pianist Dominic Degavino presents music by Willem Jeths, Thomas Brown, Frederic Rzewski and David Matthews, supported by the Park Lane Group Music Trust.

Tuesday 16 October

Illuminate Women’s Music presents a fascinating selection of guitar and violin music by Angela Slater, Blair Boyd, Libby Larsen, Carol J Jones, Gemma McGregor and Sarah Westwood.

Tuesday 23 October

Multi-talented double-bassist Daryl Runswick gives a solo recital of his own works for double-bass with electronics.

Tuesday 30 October

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance presents solo piano music by Samuel Pradalie, Monika Mia, Kc Cheng, Callum Stephens, Haribaskar Ganesan and Stephen Montague, performed by Miha Smirnov Ostir, Alexander Arenare, Yaoying Wang, Isabella Gori and Mikaela Livadiotis.
