Canada Water Culture Space LogoWhat’s on in Rotherhithe in 2017? You will be pleased to know that a lot. Canada Water Culture Place 2017 events offer something for everyone, from family entertainment to music gigs. This intimate 150 seat theatre showcasses the best in new work, comedy, contemporary theatre, dance and music. Located on the ground floor of the Canada Water Library, the Culture Space is programmed by the Albany in partnership with Southwark Council.

The location has excellent transport connections, food available in the Culture Café inside the library and nearby Canada Water Cafe and Leadbelly’s Bar and Kitchen plus the street food market outside during daytime shows and the perfect excuse to visit and explore Rotherhithe

15th London African Music Festival – Busi Mhlanga and Shosholoza

The 15th London African Music Festival presents Busi Mhlanga and Shosholoza. Singer Busi Mhlanga was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to South African and Botswanan parents Busi Mhlanga was raised in the Zulu Ndebele tradition and the writer of the smash hits ‘Wedding Song’ and ‘Xenophobia’.

15th London African Music Festival  -Kokoroko

KOKOROKO are a young and dynamic 7-piece Afrobeat band. They play music they love, they grew up with and their parents got funky to. Inspired by Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor, Tony Allen and the great sounds that have come out of West Africa, they put on a performance to honour the music the masters has taught them.

Gambian kora player JALLY KEBBA SUSSO is expanding the boundaries of kora traditions while keeping its heart and soul intact. Please ensure you arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes prior to performance start time. Re-admittance to performances will not always be possible, and is at the discretion of Canada Water Culture Space staff.

Getting there

Canada Water Library and Culture Space is situated directly above Canada Water station (Jubilee line and London overground). Exit the station towards Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.

Access

There is wheelchair access throughout the building. Induction loops are available
