Canada Water station: temporary changes to step-free access
Step-free access to and from street level at Canada Water station will be unavailable until spring 2027 while TfL carries out work to replace the station’s lifts.
A new step-free entrance at nearby Surrey Quays station opened on Thursday 10 September, providing an alternative during the works.
Step-free routes during the works
Canada Water ? Windrush line
Option 1 — Bus
? Take any bus from stop B2 at Canada Water.
Option 2 — Bus to Surrey Quays
? Take bus 1 or 381 from stop C at Canada Water Bus Station to Surrey Quays.
Option 3 — Walk
? Walk approximately 800 metres via Deal Porters Way.
If you are travelling northbound from Surrey Quays towards Canonbury and need a step-free exit, speak to a member of staff before boarding.
Windrush line ? Canada Water
Option 1 — Bus
? Get off at Surrey Quays and take any bus from stop S.
Option 2 — Walk
? Walk approximately 800 metres via Deal Porters Way.
Canada Water ? Jubilee line
? For step-free access between street level and the Jubilee line, use local bus services to and from Bermondsey station.
What remains step-free at Canada Water?
Step-free access between the Jubilee and Windrush line platforms will continue to operate as normal.
You can also continue to use step-free access between the platforms and the ticket hall.
