Construction Youth Trust Level 1 Health and Safety course March 2019

Are you aged 16 to18? Would you like to get skills to help you find a job in construction? Construction Youth Trust can help. You can register your interest to attend the assessment day to take part in the Level 1 Health and Safety course, a 5 years Green CSCS Card Basic practical skills.




How to register?

Assessment day is 11th March 2019 from 8.45am to 11.00am. Remember you must register by February 22nd.


 


This course has been designed to develop your knowledge of Health & Safety in a Construction Environment whilst preparing you to undertake further learning or employment within the construction industry.

  • If successful in gaining a place, you will attend for eight days over a two week period, 09.00-15.30.

You will get:

  • Lunch expenses of £3 per day
  • Travel expenses (up to £5 per day) ONLY on production of a travel receipt

The specific aims of the course are:

  • To facilitate a learning experience, designed to give you an insight into the many careers available within the Construction Industry, and beyond.                                                           
  • To provide an opportunity to develop the skills and qualities you will need to successfully enter the Further Education and Employment systems with an Industry recognised qualification.                                                                                                             
  • To challenge how you perceive yourself intellectually, and indicate how these perceptions can shape your thoughts, feelings and behaviors.                                     
  • To motivate you to work hard, and avoid falling into patterns of apathy, helplessness, self-defeat and academic underachievement.

During the program:

  • You will work toward the achievement of an OCNLR accredited Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
  • You will undertake intensive CSCS test training and testing. If successful, you will gain a 5 year, renewable Green Labourer’s CSCS card.
  • You will attend a ‘muddy boots’ site visit and have the opportunity to network with and be interviewed by employers seeking apprentices.                                                       
  • You will meet industry professionals to help you create a clearer picture of the opportunities available in the Construction Industry                                                                  
  • We will help you will create a compelling CV and develop your interview skills.                                             

You will attend an Assessment Day prior to course commencement for induction
