Southwark Libraries Tasty Winter Book Challenge

If you’re aged 12 to 17 and love writing, then show what you can do thanks to Southwark Libraries Tasty Winter Book Challenge! Cook Up A Story is a short story writing competition on the theme of young people’s experiences with food.

The Tasty Winter Book Challenge aims to encourage children not only to read but also to want to eat more fruit and vegetables. London Borough of Southwark are supporting Public Health in their drive to improve the  food we eat. Therefore after each book read children receive a fruit or vegetable sticker that they stick onto their activity sheet.

Tasty Winter Book Challenge groups

The challenge is split into two age ranges 0-4 years where parents/carers read to their children and for children 5-11 years. All children receive a certificate for completing the challenge by reading 16 books. Children aged

5-11 years are automatically put into a prize draw to win a £20 Amazon voucher.

The challenge takes place in all Southwark Libraries until Sunday 1 March 2020.
