Hannah James - Jig doll

Hannah James – Jig doll | 20 Nov 7:30pm |£14 in advance / £16 on the door.

Canada Water Culture Space opens its theatre to the performance Jig Doll, an exciting new project created by singer, musician and dancer Hannah James.

Much more than a concert, Jig Doll uses newly-composed music and innovative stage techniques to weave a magical atmosphere around percussive dance. Each performance will see Hannah build the music live using loop pedals and instruments. Her own dynamic rhythms then become the centerpiece of the music through a specially designed dance platform, incorporating a range of sounds and surfaces, which takes instrumental foot percussion to a new level.

Finally, she dances to the musical accompaniment she’s created: like the traditional travelling player, truly a one-woman band.
