CRxVMvsXAAMbanP CRxVMzFWoAAHzq0Expect haunting violin solos, explosive percussion and sophisticated interplay from two highly creative and versatile musicians: Turkish violinist Tuna Coskun and London percussionist Guy Schalom perform original compositions & improvisations inspired by their passion for near Eastern & Mediterranean music.

Born in Yalova, Turkey, Tuna Han Coskun has been playing first the mandolin and then violin from an early age. Very much influenced by traditional Turkish Music, he went on to enrol at the Istanbul University State Conservatory where he studied Western Classical Music. He has collaborated with a number of renowned musicians and in 2013 was soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, at the gala concert that took place in Shanghai and Beijing for ‘Turkish Year’ in China. Later the same year, following a special invitation by the Embassy in London, Coskun moved to London where he continues to promote his musical life as a solo artist and to share his works with wider audiences.

Percussionist, dancer and record producer Guy Schalom was described by ROOTS magazine as “one of the most versatile and interesting percussionists working in the UK today”. Born in Israel to an Egyptian Jewish family, he is currently based in London and has over 25 years’ experience in a range of musical idioms. Guy’s broad experience allows him to move effortlessly between performing percussion solos in large-scale productions such as Riverdance (Royal Albert Hall) and Peterloo Overture (Barbican) to leading his own jazz and world music ensembles.
