Job description

£30,906 per year | Permanent, Full-time | SE1, London

Are you passionate about supporting isolated or vulnerable older people? Do you want to have a direct impact fighting poverty and empowering choice?

Age UK Lewisham and Southwark (AUKLS) operates across the boroughs of Lewisham and Southwark providing quality assured information, advice and guidance to over 1500 older people every year on issues including welfare benefits, housing, consumer issues, community care options and scams. AUKLS also acts as a gateway to specialist services such as legal aid, debt and immigration advice through partnerships in both our boroughs.

Our Information & Advice service is currently delivered by a team of five advisors across Lewisham and Southwark, with external technical supervision. The I&A Service and Volunteer Manager is responsible for line-management and support of the advisers, as well as maintaining and developing the service through monitoring, evaluation, promotion and building partnerships with other community and statutory services. Alongside this, the manager is responsible for recruitment, training and support of volunteers across both boroughs, increasing the variety in volunteering opportunities, creating more structured development and training opportunities and increasing the capacity of the advice service.
