Composers’ Collective Open Rehearsal

Tuesday 21 May & Wednesday 22 May| 2pm | Royal Festival Hall | Free, but ticketed

Composers: come and see a dress rehearsal of Acts I & II of Stockhausen’s monumental opera, Donnerstag aus Licht (Thursday from Light).

For the first time since 1985, this remarkable work returns to the UK for just two performances, on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May in Royal Festival Hall.

This Composers’ Collective event offers an insight into the musical, technical and theatrical challenges of bringing a production of this scale to the concert hall.

Maxime Pascal conducts the combined forces of his Paris-based ensemble Le Balcon, the London Sinfonietta, the New London Chamber Choir and students from the Royal Academy of Music, in this new production directed and adapted for the concert hall by Benjamin Lazar.
